UV PROTECTION

Oprah?s Sunglass Boutique Features Marchon Sunglasses

Oprah Winfrey invited Marchon to be the exclusive eyewear for Oprah's Sunglass Boutique during a recent show. Some 350 audience members received eyewear makeovers from Marchon reps (bottom photo).
Oprah herself had a field day modeling styles by Calvin Klein, Coach, Fendi, Michael Kors and Sean Jean. And Marchon's own Robert Schienberg (middle photo), senior VP of global communications and resident fashion guru, appeared on the show to discuss the elements of eyewear style.
O what a feeling.

One increasingly popular option for sunglasses that those of us requiring eyeglasses are turning to are fitovers. These are slightly oversized sunglasses made to slip right over your glasses. Among the advantages to fitovers compared to clip-ons or prescription sunglasses are the availability of peripheral protection from glare, bright light and UV rays since many fitover sunglasses have wraparound designs.

And yet another mention of FramesDirect.com in the news.
The Star Tribune of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota ran an article titled Dollars and Sense: How to see better online describing how one man saved several hundred dollars on eyeglasses by purchasing them online rather than buying them at a local optical store.
That man, Ira Mitchell, documents his search for decent prices on eyewear and frames, visiting local stores and online vendors such as FramesDirect.com. As far as he is concerned, "Eyeglass stores are for suckers" citing markups of over 500 percent. The article says he has purchased a dozen frames online for what one pair could cost at a major brick and mortar eyeglass store.
Mitchell mentions FramesDirect.com as being a favorite for designer frames.
As always, the article discusses shopping locally first, writing down the information on the frames that you like, then searching for them on the Internet to see what kind of price you can get online before purchasing them in a shop.
