Serengeti Sunglasses Serengeti sunglasses are well known for stylish elegance and functionality. From classic aviator styles to their new seductive Bromo shades, Serengeti provides a sharper view of the world.

Of course, looking good and good vision just go together and Serengeti sunglasses and Serengeti Prescription RX sunglasses perform both functions well. Here are some of the ways this remarkable eyewear brand does it.

SERENGETI SUNGLASSES TECHNOLOGY

SPECTRAL CONTROL
Serengeti sunglasses' patented Spectral Control filters interact with the full spectrum of light, selectively blocking and filtering each wavelength. Contrast is improved so objects appear more sharply defined. Colors a bright and vibrant. Glare is virtually eliminated, allowing your eyes to relax and see everything remarkably crisp and clear.

PHOTOCHROMIC
Serengeti sunglasses exclusive photochromic lenses automatically adjust to changing light conditions. Activated by the amount of ultraviolet light in the atmosphere, the lenses darken in bright sunlight and lighten in overcast conditions. And because the technology is engineered into the glass, it can never wear off or wear out. With Serengeti you're always wearing the right lens, no matter what the conditions.

OPTICAL GLASS
Serengeti sunglasses are made from distortion-free, precision ground an polished optical glass, Serengeti sunglasses give you the clearest image available. Scratch resistant and chemically tempered for strength, each and every lens is drop ball tested with a steel ball to ensure maximum impact resistance. With proper care, Serengeti lenses can last a lifetime.

UV PROTECTION
Every day your eyes are bombarded by potentially damaging ultraviolet rays from the sun. Many sunglasses filter some UV light, but Serengeti lenses block 100% of UVB light and no less than 98.5% of UVA rays, exceeding all government and commercial standards. Lenses also feature an anti-reflective coating on the reverse side to block glare and back reflections.

BLUE LIGHT
Blue light waves cause a unique set of vision problems. These shorter wavelengths can't be properly focused by your eyes, creating a phenomenon known as "blue blur". Blue light waves are also responsible for "veiling glare" as the scatter off dust and moisture particles in the air. Serengeti lenses block and filter 95% of blue light, virtually eliminating blue blur and the eye strain and fatigue it can cause.

POLARIZATION
When normal, parallel rays of light bounce off surfaces like windshields, windows, water or ice, the create random light-waves. These reflected light-waves produce glare that irritates your eyes. Working like microscopic Venetian blinds, the polarized filters in Serengeti's Strata 400 Lenses "organize" the light, eliminating glare and reducing eye fatigue.

SERENGETI LENS OPTIONS

Strata 400. The finest lens the world has ever seen.

Vistana L fitovers sunglasses One increasingly popular option for sunglasses that those of us requiring eyeglasses are turning to are fitovers. These are slightly oversized sunglasses made to slip right over your glasses. Among the advantages to fitovers compared to clip-ons or prescription sunglasses are the availability of peripheral protection from glare, bright light and UV rays since many fitover sunglasses have wraparound designs.

What, you moan, those radiation goggles that old people wear? Argh!

Fear not, web surfer, for these are NOT your father's fitovers. You will not look like you just came out of a 3D movie wearing these. Today's fitovers come in a variety of fashion styles, colors and shapes that fit any outdoor activity. There are even sport fitovers.

More press about FramesDirect.comAnd yet another mention of FramesDirect.com in the news.

The Star Tribune of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota ran an article titled Dollars and Sense: How to see better online describing how one man saved several hundred dollars on eyeglasses by purchasing them online rather than buying them at a local optical store.

That man, Ira Mitchell, documents his search for decent prices on eyewear and frames, visiting local stores and online vendors such as FramesDirect.com. As far as he is concerned, "Eyeglass stores are for suckers" citing markups of over 500 percent. The article says he has purchased a dozen frames online for what one pair could cost at a major brick and mortar eyeglass store.

Mitchell mentions FramesDirect.com as being a favorite for designer frames.

As always, the article discusses shopping locally first, writing down the information on the frames that you like, then searching for them on the Internet to see what kind of price you can get online before purchasing them in a shop.
