Look Up: Ray Ban Wayfarers Colors
Filed Under News & Articles | Leave a Comment
To help launch the new Wayfarer Color Collection, Ray-Ban collaborated with five prominent underground artists in New York for the Project Colorize Campaign, which culminated with a daylong event last month.
"Project Colorize," part of the month-long Public Art Gallery project, features the works of artists: Ron English (pictured left), Tara McPherson, Scott Alger, Queen Andrea and Toofly, on giant billboards in various locations around New York City. The unveiling of the billboards was accompanied by a public stunt that literally stopped traffic on Sixth Avenue when a troop of actors, dressed all in black and wearing colored Wayfarers, froze in the middle of the intersection between 31st Street and Sixth Avenue to stare up at artist Ron English’s billboard as it was unveiled.
The "6th Avenue Freeze" was followed by an after party at the Henri Bendel store on Fifth Avenue where customers were able to shop for Ray-Ban styles, including colored Wayfarers, while enjoying cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a DJ spinning music.

Hurricane Ike Can’t Keep Us Down!
Filed Under News & Articles | Leave a Comment
Due to problems at the Marathon Tower data center cause by Hurricane Ike, the FramesDirect.com web site was down for nearly a day. We appear to be back up and apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused to our loyal visitors. Considering the amount of damage and lack of power that many businesses and residents in the Houston area suffered, we were lucky. Our offices are intact with electricity, air conditioning and phone service, so we will be open as usual Monday morning.
Thanks for coming back!

Sarah Palin’s Eyeglasses
Filed Under Celebrity Eyewear | 9 Comments
We're getting some questions about what those rimless eyeglasses Sarah Palin has been seen wearing on the campaign trail.
Sarah Palin's glasses are the Kazuo Kawasaki 704 Duo eyeglasses frame in grey, shape: SP (custom-made for Sarah Palin, but we can get that exact shape) in metal (The 705 model is the exact same as the 704, except that it is plastic version of the 704, which is metal).

We've added an owners bio page to the site where you can read about the founders of FramesDirect.com. Although the page is in our press section and originally envisioned as a resource for reporters and writers, we think it will also be nice for our site visitors to know a little about our good doctors.
In addition to the written information about Dr. Dhavid Cooper and Dr. Guy Hodgson, there are handy links to videos and podcasts featuring the doctors as well as an e-mail link for media folks to request a high resolution image of each. A PDF version of the page is also available for download.
