Inserting a contact lensPeople who are new to the idea of wearing contact lenses are generally concerned about comfort. "Will it hurt?" is probably the first thing that comes to mind when they consider putting that little lens in an eye. The second question is likely to be "Will it bother me?" or "Will I feel the lens in my eye all day" or something along those lines.

And, to be honest, most people new to contacts are less than enthusiastic about slipping lenses in and out of the eye. We all have a natural tendency to be protective about our eyes and putting a foreign object in there is about as alien to us as, well, dinner with a vampire!

The truth is, however, that wearing contact lenses can be both easy and comfortable. It's all in choosing the right contact for you and learning the right way to put them in and take them out. Sure, you'll probably be a little awkward with them at first, but if you follow our online tutorial on insertion and removal of your contact lens, you'll be a pro in no time.

With the right lenses and a little practice, you'll be amazed at how comfortable contacts can be. For answers to the most common questions about contacts, see our contact lens FAQ or call one of our experienced opticians at 1-800-248-9427.
