Nike was founded by Bill Bowerman, a nationally respected track and field coach at the University of Oregaon, and Phil Knight, who was a talented middle-distance runner from Portland with an MBA in finance from Stanford University. Initially the company was called Blue Ribbon Sports. She called to inform me that the Maui Jim sunglasses I had ordered are shipped to you direct from the manufacturer, and that Next Day Air is only after you receive them.
