Persol Eyewear
Luxottica Group has relaunched its Persol Sport collection. Included are four styles targeted to active males seeking a more casual look without sacrificing the attention to detail and quality for which the Persol brand is recognized. All of the styles feature DuPont Hytrel temples to keep frames secure.
"With over 80 years of history, Persol continues to build on its long heritage in the sunglass category with classics that are certain to appeal to both traditional Persol consumers and celebrities and sports figures worldwide. We are expanding on the heritage and are meeting the demands of the fashion world with exciting rimless offerings and wonderful colorations?thanks to the introduction of polycarbonate and APX lens materials," says Luxottica Group director of marketing Vittorio Verdun.
Check out two stars for the price of one during the UPN Television Network airing of the movie "Chameleon" as Bobbi Phillips co-stars with Persol sunglasses. Those Persols are actually an integral part of the story because the eyewear (worn by numerous characters in the flick) is embedded with a computer chip allowing the action team access to internal communications via satellite transmissions. Phillips, a star in "Show Girls" and episodes of "X-Files" and "Murder One" was also a featured face in Persol?s fall advertising campaign from Luxottica
"While the Persol Sport collection draws on Persol?s long tradition of classic styling and exceptional quality, these latest offerings are designed for the consumer with an active lifestyle," Verdun adds. Persol Sport has introduced a photochromatic lens, which provides optimum comfort and protection in mixed lighting conditions.
Shapes include three metals and one plastic in aviator, rectangular and wrap designs. All styles are available with or without polarized lenses and with a smoke/yellow mirror option. Two of the glasses are equipped with a new olive-color crystal photochromatic lens (nonpolarized) that adapts to changing light conditions. Each frame is accented with the Persol arrow on the temples.
