So I was tooling around the Internet looking for stories about outdoor or fishing sunglasses, when I came across a link to the only fishing tournament that I might actually be able to win. "Redneck Fishing Tournament" folks, is what it's called, and though it might sound like a tourney for noodling, it's actually much cooler.

Apparently there is mass over population of these large Asian carp in the Mississippi River. So massive in fact, that the foreign species is killing much of the native wildlife on account of not having any natural predators. That being the case, means to control the population of these carp are pretty much limitless, which means you don't have to use a fishing pole to catch them. What can you use besides a fishing pole to catch a fish? How about a net, a bat, or even just a boat. These carp get so jumpy around motorized water vehicles that they literally jump up to 10 feet in the air, sometimes even landing inside the boat. And they're out there by the thousands, so there's plenty for all, and you're supporting the natural environment.

The event takes place this year from August 6-7, you can find out more about it here. So do you need polarized sunglasses for this fishing tourney? Not if they're flying out of the water into your boat, but it wouldn't hurt…
