Low bridge glasses, also known as alternative fit glasses (and previously, Asian fit), are sunglass and eyeglass frames designed so that the part of the frame between the eyes and the attached nose pads sit lower on the nose than traditional frames. The name of the piece between the eye rims is known as the bridge and is designed to sit over the peak of your nose where the bone meets the cartilage, also known as the bridge of your nose. Even when you properly measure your frame size, the standard frame measurements only account for your frame’s bridge width, not bridge height. A pair of glasses with a bridge that sits too high, will not properly sit on the bridge of the nose and may slip off, put extra pressure on the ears, or cause other discomfort.
