At FramesDirect.com, we carry the most advanced lenses from Essilor, a world leader for corrective eyewear. Essilor is at the forefront of providing lenses made with innovative technology and superb craftsmanship.
Seamless "trifocals" for the modern age
Progressive lenses are similar to bifocals with two major differences.
- Unlike bifocals, progressive lenses have no "lines" that divide the different strengths of lenses. In other words, no one can tell if you're wearing progressive lenses or single vision.
- Also unlike bifocals, our progressive lenses have three levels: distance at the top, intermediate in the middle and reading at the bottom.
We use Essilor Ideal Advanced, a digitally surfaced lens that offers a much wider field of vision than conventional progressive lens.
When choosing your lens type, select "Progressive No Line."

Eyeglasses that Transform into Sunglasses
Transition lenses, or photochromic lenses, are both clear prescription glasses and sunglasses at the same time. They darken in bright light and fade to clear in dimmer light, adapting to create the optimal vision for your eyes in every circumstance.
Anyone who wears glasses or sunglasses (prescription or not) can wear Transitions® photochromic adaptive lenses. Different color lens tints and other options are available to complement every lifestyle, age, and a number of different sports and activities.
Available in four different styles: Transitions® Signature™, Transitions® XTRActive™, Transitions® Vantage™, and Transitions® Drivewear™.
High Index 1.74
Ultra Thin Lenses for High Prescriptions
Experience the thinnest, flattest and most cosmetically appealing lens ever developed. If you have a high prescription and don't want ultra thick lenses, these are the solution for you.
These ultra thin lenses are nearly 50% thinner than plastic and 5% thinner than 1.67 high index lenses, offering you the ultimate in technology and cosmetics. The thinner lens is much more flattering, reducing the distortion that high prescriptions cause when made with lower quality lenses.
When selecting your lens, choose "Thinnest" to get the High Index 1.74 lenses.
Keep Your Eyes Safe, Protected, and Comfortable
Add extra protection to your eyes! Our UV coating protects you from 100% of UVA and UVB rays. UV rays are linked to cataracts and macular degeneration. Taking this simple step now can do wonders in preserving your eye health further down the road.
Most sunglasses already do this, but now your eyeglasses can do it, too.
All day, our eyes are bombarded with harmful artificial light. Our eyes aren't meant to handle all of it, and it takes a toll when you look at a bright screen all day.
That's why we offer 3 different types of anti-reflective blue light protection:
- Kodak BlueReflect for progressive lenses
- Eyezen for single vision
